2011 Meeting - call for papers

The programme organisers invite the submission of a 250 to 300 word abstract for presentation as a paper or poster for the 2011 Cardiff BASK Annual Meeting on the 6th and 7th April 2011. The deadline for submission is midnight on the 8th October 2010.

If the abstract is accepted it will be published in the final programme of the meeting and a proceedings supplement of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery respectively.

Instructions

Please read this form carefully and follow the format stated, submit your abstract electronically as an attachment in Microsoft word format, remember to state in your email the following details, your full name, full postal address and your mobile number. Please state in your email whether your abstract has been submitted for presentation as a Poster, Podium or BOTH.

ABSTRACT FORMAT

The heading

  1. The title. Entire title in capital letters, without abbreviations.
  2. Author's initial/s and first letter of surname in capital letters; remainder of name in lower case (eg. J F Bloggs).
  3. The institution where work was carried out.

Organisation of Content

  1. A statement of the purposes of the study (one sentence).
  2. A summary of the methods used and the results.
  3. A statement of the conclusion. (It is not acceptable to state “The results will be discussed”).

Formatting and Layout

  • Do include simple tables or graphs but only if necessary (These will not be included when submitting to the JBJS).
  • Do use common abbreviations. If unusual abbreviations are used, the full phrase must be used in parentheses the first time it appears.
  • Do not mention sponsors.
  • Do not use commercial names of medicines.

Submission

Abstracts should be submitted as an attachment in Microsoft word Format electronically to: BASKCardiff2011@boa.ac.uk

IMPORTANT NOTE

If your abstract is selected for podium presentation the senior author stated on your abstract will be required to register for the meeting and should be present during your presentation.
